This is a Lord of the Rings support group for people who are overweight and tired of it! If you are trying to lose weight, eat healthier and become more physically fit while having fun with your Lord of the Rings friends, this is the place for you.

When you join our community, you are invited to compose an introductory post telling us about yourself and whatever weight loss goals you feel comfortable sharing. Your introduction will be entered into the memories section.

We do not follow any one nutrition or exercise plan. No two people are exactly alike and therefore no two nutrition plans are exactly alike. We do not require members to disclose their total weight-loss goals nor do we hold regular weigh-ins. However, if you wish to provide this information, you are welcome to do so.

Everyone is encouraged to post as often as they like to report their progress, share new information, chat or just vent. If you wish to post unsolicited medical or fitness advice, your post should be placed behind a cut tag with the proper warnings and disclaimers. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. While this community is made up of like-minded individuals who wish to encourage each other, none of the members are professional health care providers. If you need medical advice, please consult your physician.

Anyone who reaches a personal goal will be "virtually" rewarded. Anyone who has had a setback is invited to "atone" for their slip with a creative gesture: a poem, ficlet, drabble, picture, etc. This is NOT a requirement and no one will be put under any pressure to participate. Any creative gestures and/or recipes submitted will be placed into the memories section for members to enjoy.

This community is for weight loss, fellowship, fun and support. We are here to encourage one another. Discussion is fine, fighting is not. Flames will result in the flamer being permanently expelled from the community.

Activity is the spice of life. If you haven't posted or contributed to the community in some way for one month, we will assume you are no longer interested and you will be removed from the list of members. However, we know life can be busy, so if you wish to return when you have more time to contribute, you may do so!

Once you reach your desired weight and fitness goals and have maintained for at least six weeks, you will be given the opportunity to have a special celebratory sendoff! We hope to see many of our group “graduate” by losing the weight they need.

Off topic posts are welcome, but please keep such posts to a minimum. Longer posts, creative gestures, etc. should be placed behind a cut.
